Back in 'Tyne' in Newcastle & Durham

The 3 star Mercure Newcastle County Hotel is centrally located within close proximity to museums, shopping and cultural attractions. All bedrooms are ensuite and are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, TV, hairdryer, ironing board and free wifi. Use of complimentary offsite leisure facilities, located within 10 minutes walking distance of the hotel.
Day 1: We leave our home area and travel to the spa town of Harrogate for sightseeing and shopping before continuing onto our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2: After breakfast we travel the short distance to Beamish - the open air museum, telling the story of life in North East England in the 1820s, 1900s and 1940s. Explore the Pit Village, Colliery and Farm or take a journey on the tramway.
Day 3: A full day in Durham today. There's plenty to see and do including the Cathedral and Castle, or take a stroll through the historic streets where you will find independant and high street shops.
Day 4: This morning we make our way to Newcastle where along with free time you will also take a trip along the Tyne. The Quay to Countryside cruise, sail as far upriver as Ryton Willows Nature Reserve and Newburn Countryside Park. The cruise takes you under 11 of the Tyne's bridges, including the Gateshead Millenium Bridge, Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge and High Level Bridge.
Day 5: We have some free time in York this morning before making our way home.
