What’s it all about?
Greenbank Outdoor Heated Pool has been an established attraction in Street since 1937. Alice Greenbank, a wealthy resident of Street, commissioned her nephew to construct the pool for the benefit of all Street residents. Today, visitors from across the country benefit from her generosity as they bathe in the warm, refreshing water. Or relax by the poolside as the kids play.
What can I expect to see?
The entrance to Greenbank Pools is a dead giveaway to its time. The flat, single-story art deco building is an eye-catching sight in itself. As you enter the pool area itself, you’ll see a shallow semi-circular area where little ones can have a paddle and friends can relax, socialise and keep an eye on the kids.
The shallow area opens out to the pool itself where you can swim some lengths, have fun and make the most of the water during the summer months. The pool also has a diving board at one end, if you feel like practising your diving technique. Or if you just want to mess around!
And that’s not all. Greenbank also provides a little splash zone for tots and a children’s pool with a slide for under 8s.

How do I get there from the Berrys drop-off point?
It’s a short journey to get to Greenbank Pool from the Berrys drop-off point at Farm Road, taking approximately seven minutes from stepping off the coach. Walk back to Southleaze Orchard Road and cross onto Farm Road, directly opposite from where you stepped off the coach.
Continue walking down this section of Farm Road for approximately 200 yards until you reach Street Hight Street. Turn left onto the High Street and walk for another 100 yards or so and then take the first right onto Wilfrid Street. You will see the entrance to Greenbank Pool immediately on your right.
